The Three Stars of the Week
1. C Michaël Bournival had an impressive week to become the first star, scoring five goals for the team he captains, the Shawinigan Cataractes. Bournival’s offensive contributions were mostly complimentary during the week, adding the 5th goal of a 5-2 win on Wednesday night and the 2nd goal in a 7-3 loss on Saturday night, but soundly delivered a win on Friday night when he registered a hat trick. Bournival recorded the 1st, 3rd and 5th goals of the game to bring about a 5-3 victory. Bournival’s five goals raised him to 28 on his season, four better than his best career mark and a career-best 64 points. Bournival is 16th overall in league scoring in the QMJHL. Bournival was drafted in the 3rd round, 71st overall in the 2010 Entry Draft.
2. C Louis Leblanc snapped his scoring slump in impressive fashion this week with the Montreal Juniors, scoring three goals and adding three assists, with points in all three of his games to help his team towards a perfect week. Leblanc scored the initial goal of a 3-goal comeback with his team in a 4-3 victory on Thursday night, added a goal and assist on Friday night in a 5-2 win, then had a goal and two assists in a 7-1 win on Saturday as his team completed an intense three game in three night schedule. Leblanc’s scoring outburst has him back as the leader in points per game at 1.1. Leblanc was drafted in the 1st round, 18th overall in the 2009 Entry Draft.
3. D Greg Pateryn recorded his finest single-game points performance of his NCAA career, scoring a goal and three assists on Friday night. Pateryn assisted on the first two goals of the game, scored the 3rd and then assisted on the 4th and eventual game-winning goal in what became a 6-3 victory for the University of Michigan Wolverines, where Pateryn is playing in his third year with the team. Pateryn’s scoring exploits have placed him with three goals and eleven assists on his season, more goals and assists than he had in his two previous seasons at Michigan combined and is 3rd points amongst Michican defencemen. Pateryn was drafted in the 5th round, 128th overall in the 2008 Entry Draft.
Worthy Mentions: D Mathieu Carle posted a goal and two assists for his 3rd 20-point season in the AHL. C Andreas Engqvist had two goals on the week to break a 10-game scoring slump. RW Brendan Gallagher added three assists to his scoring totals. C Ben Maxwell has begun to give key contributions in Hamilton, scoring a goal and three assists. RW Aaron Palushaj had 2 goals on his week, which also raised him to a career-best 33-point season, which he achieved in 16 fewer games than last season. G Karri Ramo continues to dominate the KHL, he recorded two wins to raise his record to 33-6-3, with an excellent 1.97 GAA with a .925 save percentage. D Jarred Tinordi scored his first OHL goal this week. C Dustin Walsh had his 9th goal of the season, surpassing his previous-season mark of 8 goals.

The AHL Report: The Hamilton Bulldogs have been the AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens since 2002. It is the most common route for developing Montreal Canadiens prospects into full-time members of the organization. There are currently 14 members of the Hamilton Bulldogs that can be considered NHL-viable prospects, five of which, David Desharnais, Brendon Nash, Max Pacioretty, Yannick Weber and Ryan White have been called up to Montreal.
